Bi-level cars approved for Penn Line

The Maryland Transit Administration says its has received federal approval to use 13 bi-level passenger cars for high-speed service on MARC’s Penn Line.
The cars, acquired from the Virginia Railroad Express last year, will replace single-level coaches on the Penn Line and will increase capacity.
The Federal Railroad Administration granted approval for their use.
The Penn Line operates from Washington’s Union Station, Baltimore’s Penn Station, BWI and other points in Maryland.
