Liz Farmer (@tdrfarmer)
Liz Farmer covers sports business, retail, tourism, advertising and the media for The Daily Record…so boredom is definitely not one of her problems.
Liz is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and ditched the lovely California weather for the East Coast in 1998 to attend the George Washington University. She later received a Master of Journalism from the University of Maryland, but mostly so she could go to a school with a college football team.
Liz joined the Daily Record in 2007 and has won several awards for her work, including first place from the Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Press Association for her feature on minor league baseball in Maryland. You can also catch Liz every Friday afternoon on Sports with Coleman (WCBM-AM) talking about the latest sports business news.
Robbie Whelan (@whelanandealin)
Robbie Whelan covers real estate development, the housing market and city government for The Daily Record. Originally from Pittsburgh, and a proud citizen of the Steeler Nation, Robbie nevertheless has deep roots in Maryland (at least six generations of Marylanders in his ancestry), and a great fondness for Baltimore.
Over the last two years, Robbie has covered the foreclosure crisis, the coming of slot machine gambling in Baltimore, the development of the Westport and Harbor East projects and the indictment of Mayor Sheila Dixon.
In 2008, Robbie authored a three-part, 12-page series on eminent domain abuse in Baltimore that won awards from the National Newspaper Association, the Maryland chapter of the Society for Professional Journalists and company-wide honors from Dolan Media Co. In addition his work at The Daily Record, Robbie has lived in and reported from Mumbai, India.
Robbie graduated from the Johns Hopkins University with a degree in history, and has lived in Baltimore City for nearly eight years.
Danielle Ulman (@danielleulman)
Danielle Ulman began reporting for The Daily Record in December 2007, covering Maryland’s energy, finance, health care and biotechnology businesses.
In the last year, much of her time has been spent covering the goings on at Constellation Energy Group. She also regularly writes about executive compensation, mergers and acquisitions involving Maryland firms and can often be found at the state’s Public Service Commission.
Ulman is a graduate of the University of Delaware and earned a Master of Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park.
