Jayson Williams first started to play basketball for both Christ the King Regional High school as well as St. John university. Williams was selected by the phoenix suns in round one of the 1990s NBA Draft. Further, his draft rights were traded by the suns to the Philadelphia 76ers for the 1993 first round on October 28, 1990, but he remained on the bench for two years with the 76ers. Later on, Williams was traded to New Jersey nets on conditional drafts on October 8, 1992.

He got only 12 starts with the new jersey nets in his first three seasons with the team. Finally, he got a full-time starting position in the 1996-97 season.

There was a sudden end to William’s Career on April 1, 1999, as he broke his right leg in a collision with a teammate in a game against Atlanta Hawks.

After this, William underwent surgery which finished his Career. Williams was not available for the entire 99-2000 season, and surprisingly, Williams officially announced his retirement on June 28, 2000, at the age of 32, after playing just nine seasons.
