John initially worked with Roberts Weaver after which he joined the industrials group at a London startup ‘Tangerine’ where he designed a diverse array of products. But after his designed toilet and sink were rejected by the Boss calling them too modern and expensive, he got frustrated.
After that, Apple became a client of Tangerine and John led its initial PowerBook designs. He was then formally recruited in Apple in 1992.
