Gutt joined the Dry Cell band, becoming the lead singer. The other members of the band were Judd Gruenbaum, Danny Hartwell, and Brandon Brown. Their studio album “Disconnected” was released in 2002. The songwriter of the band left the band in 2004 but joined back in 2005, but at this time, the band went for a break until 2007. After the band reunited in 2008, Gutt left the following year for good. The band launched their album in 2010 containing demos of 2003, 2005, and 2008 but unfortunately, the band discontinued.

He joined the Acrylic band after leaving Dry Cell and recorded eight demos with them. He then formed Band With No Name (BWNN) with his friend, Gary Pittel consisting of artists like Aaron Hutchinson, Mike Guy, Justin Antic Hackman, and Ben Lula. Their first EP consisted of five tracks. They won 89X & TNT’s Battle of the Band and also received $1 000 to record a new EP. They recorded seven more songs, and their full-length album called “Humanity” was released in 2009.

Gutt formed a new alternative rock band, Rival City Heights, with Gary Pittel to play the guitar, Brandon Brown, former Dry Cell member to play drums, Cyamak Ashitani to play guitar, and KC Jenkins as the bassist. The band was formed in January 2014, and in May, they played a debut show at Masonic Temple in Detroit. Hutt worked as a solo artist and released “A Detroit Christmas” in December.

The following year, Rival City Heights toured Module East with the Princess Alla Foundation and performed a series of concerts. The following year, they released their debut single called “Take it Back.” Later in 2016, they released “Fading Out/What’s Going On.” Gutt was recruited to Stone Temple Pilots to replace the lead singer, Chester Bennington, as reported by Entertainment Tonight on 16 November 2016.
