He became Willard and Inez Kerr Bell Endowed Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in 1987. Hennessey has done a lot in his career as he has served as director of Stanford’s Computer System Laboratory from 1989 to 1993. This is a research centre which is run by Stanford Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department.
