Clark was born on 31 August 1953, in Alameda, California, in the US, to Rozlyn and Abraham Kleck. She was named Marcia Rachel Kleks, but she later changed her name. Her father was born and bought up in Israel. He worked at Food and Drug Admiration as a chemist.
She is the eldest daughter and has a younger brother who is six years younger than her. Her father’s job demanded constant moving. They met each other while they were a student at the University of California, Los Angeles. She divorced him when she found out that either he or his mother tried to sell her topless pictures to the National Enquirer during the trial of O.J. Simpson. They received a Tijuana divorce.
They did not have any children together. Later after four years, she again got married to Gordon Clark, who is a computer programmer and systems administrator employed at the Church of Scientology. But they also got divorced after 15 years of being together. They had two sons for whom Gordon argued their custody, saying that she spent too much time in her work and court that she has less time with the children.
All these incidents blew her faith in God, and she discontinued following any religion. In 1980, she withdrew herself from the Church of Scientology of which she was a part.
