Superorganism was formed in 2017 by the members, Orono Noguchi (a.k.a. OJ), Harry (a.k.a. Christopher Young), Emily (a.k.a. The band members are based in the U.S., UK, and Australia. Most of the band members had met online in music forums. Emily, Harry, Tucan, and Robert Strange were previously in a band called The Eversons. Orono was a fan of The Eversons and she first discovered the band through YouTube. Orono first met them in 2015 in Japan and they bonded over their love for Internet memes.

Evolution

In 2017, the band released its first single, “Something for Your M.I.N.D.” The single was successful in the sense that it was featured on the soundtrack of the immensely popular football simulation video game, “FIFA 18”. The single also became a part of the third season of the popular TV series, “Legion”. In the same year, the band released the singles, “It’s All Good” and “Nobody Cares”.

On the 2nd of March 2018, the band released its debut studio album, “Superorganism”. The album’s single, “Night Time” captured the 45th position on Mexico Ingles Airplay. The album’s single, “Everybody Wants to Be Famous” was especially successful. It captured the 25th position on the Belgium charts, 6th position on the Japan charts, 11th position on the Mexico charts, and 29th position on the US charts.

The album, on the other hand, was even more successful. The album captured the 25th position on the UK charts, 19th position on the Scottish charts, and 4th position on the U.S. and New Zealand charts. In 2019, they were featured on Gen Hoshino’s song, “Same Thing” which captured the 36th position on the Billboard Japan charts.
